I am an evolutionary social scientist whose research focuses on contemporary human behavior and psychology. I am especially interested in signaling, the evolution of communication, and the viability of the handicap principle.

As a PhD student in Anthropology at ASU’s School of Human Evolution and Social Change, I am advised by Daniel Hruschka. My work is conducted as part of the Laboratory of Culture Change and Behavior, ABC&S research group, and Center for Evolution & Medicine. I also conduct fieldwork with the Minangkabau (Minang) of West Sumatra, Indonesia, where I am in the process of developing a long-term fieldsite.
